Woman Who Conned Army Officer’s Family Held In City
Hyderabad: A 42-year-old woman from Mumbai who allegedly cheated a retired colonel's family was arrested by the Rachakonda cyber crime police on Tuesday. In a complaint to Rachakonda Cyber crime police, the retired Army colonel, Bhupinder Singh said that he had created an account on Defence Matrimony site in search of a suitable bride for his son.
After some days, Bhupinder received a call from Riddhima Kalsy claiming to be a neurosurgeon from Mumbai and expressing interest in the match.
Later, Bhupinder's son Dilpreeth Singh and the woman got in touch with each other. One day, the woman from Mumbai asked Dilpreeth to give some money on the pretext of her grandfather's treatment. Due to the Non-Resident External and Non-Resident Ordinary accounts, she couldn't withdraw the money, she claimed.
Dilpreeth transferred Rs 3.36 lakh to her bank account after which she began to avoid him. The Rachakonda police team traced the woman to Mumbai. She was identified as Reema Sandhu, an accent and voice trainer at a BPO. To earn easy money, the woman is said to have committed this fraud.
The police produced her in the Mumbai court and brought her to Hyderabad on transit warrant and remanded under judicial custody.
