Will Sarkar Beat Mersal Collections?

Illayathalapathy Vijay is one of the most talented actors in the Tamil Film Industry. The Kollywood star also enjoys a huge fan following across the globe. From being a lover boy to an action king, Vijay has come a long way. His last Diwali release was Mersal which raked in record collections at the box office. Vijay is all set to enthrall the audience this Diwali too with Sarkar. The film is one of the hugely awaited films this year in Kollywood. Sarkar is gearing up for release worldwide this Diwali on November 6 amid high expectations. A couple of days back, the makers of the Sarkar released a teaser from the film which was not only loved by the audiences but also acclaimed by critics. Guess what? Sarkar teaser has become one of the the fastest videos to achieve a million views on digital platform in just five hours. So one can well imagine the records the film will create after it opens in theatres.

In Sarkar, Vijay plays an NRI corproate honcho who comes to India to correct the flawed political system. It appears every actor wants to play a politician given that elections are around the corner. In Tollywood, we have already seen Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu and Vijay Deverakonda's NOTA. Both were released in Tamil but became mediocre hits at the box office. It now remains to be seen if Sarkar can live up to the audience expectations.

Now, there's a lot of buzz around how much money the film will make at the box office. Trade analysts are busy calculating while moviebuffs are placing the bets on Sarkar to beat the collections of Vijay's other movies. The biggest record to break would undoubtedly be that of the actor's previous release Mersal which shattered all box office records. Will Vijay be able to beat his own record with Sarkar? Mersal which was released after a long protest due to its controversial script focusing on the repercussions of Modi's initiatives like digital India, demonetisation and GST. Mersal released after crossing all the hurdles and it was a career changing role for Vijay in the film. People are betting big time, after seeing the teaser and posters of Sarkar. Trade pundits predict that Sarkar has the potential to create wonders at the box office.

Sarkar is directed by AR Murugadoss and it is the most loved combo in Kollywood. Earlier, the duo had delivered two blockbuster hits like-Kaththi and Thuppakki.
