YS Jagan consoles families of boat capsize victims
YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the families of those who drowned in Godavari near Dowleswaram as the country boat in which they were travelling capsized on Tuesday evening.
He consoled the family members and assured them that he would stand by them.
Five people belonging to Korukonda drowned while returning from a wedding. When they were about to reach the destination, the boat was capsized by strong winds.
Expressing his deepest condolences for the bereaved family, YS Jagan also promised ex-gratia payment of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of families. The YSRCP chief also visited the families of two people killed in a road accident at Madhurapudi and promised Rs 2 lakhs to the families
Earlier in the day, YS Jagan arrived in Rajahmundry to review the poll results of ZPTC, assembly and general elections with the party candidates in the district.
He will undertake the review of poll results in Krishna, Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam districts at Ongole on June 9 and 10 and those of Chittor, Anantapuram, Kurnool and Kadapa at Anantapuram on June 11 and 12.
