Vizag, Kakinada on Smart Cities List, None from Telangana

New Delhi: Visakhapatnam and Kakinada from Andhra Pradesh have found place in the Central government's ambitious Smart Cities programme of which the first list of 20 cities was released by the Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday.

Much to the disappointment of Telangana, no cities were included in the list from the state though Hyderabad, Warangal and Karimnagar were considered for the status.

Here's the list of cities to be developed as Smart Cities in the country:

Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Jaipur, Surat, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Jabalpur, Solapur, Bhuvanagiri, Indore, Coimbatore, Belgaum, Udaipur, Guwahati, Chennai, Ludhiana, Bhopal and NDMC.
