To avoid protests, PM taken direct to Hitex - Sakshi Post


In view of the Telangana protagonists plan to stage protests in Hyderabad during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to the city, the State administration has changed its strategy and is driving the VVIP straight to the CoP-11 summit venue in Hitex at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and back to the Begumpet airport. He will not be attending any other function in Hyderabad and scheduled earlier.

The Prime Minister, who landed at the Begumpet Airport in the city by a chartered flight, is being taken by an Army helicopter to the CoP-11 venue. At the Begumpet airport, Manmohan Singh was received by Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy and Director General of Police (DGP) Dinesh Reddy among others.
Demanding an urgent decision on separate Telangana, those who are championing the cause have planned to stage protests like black balloons, wearing black badges, et al during the Prime Minister’s visit. In view of this the State administration has changed it strategy and is taking the VVIP direct to the venue from the airport and back.
