Warangal Student Abuses Collector On Twitter, Arrested

Warangal: There's a line which is not meant to be crossed on social media channels like Facebook and Twitter. Sayyed Sohail of Pensionpera here learnt this lesson the hard way. A degree student, Sohail made some controversial comments on Warangal Urban district collector Prasanth Jeevan Patil through Twitter. He used curse words in his tweet and tagged other officials in the state. This tweet circulated in social media in quick time and was widely commented upon by netizens. District police and other officers took the issue seriously because it was tantamount to damaging the reputation of the Collector.

Warangal Police Commissioner Dr Ravinder ordered Cyber Crime Police to investigate. It is learnt that, on Saturday night, Subedari police arrested Sayyed Sohail based on the complaint filed by District Revenue Officer P. Mohanlal. A case was filed under IPC sections 189, 294/B, 504 and other acts, by Subedari Inspector P. Sadaiah.
