Hyderabad: With the severe cyclonic storm Vayu striking Gujarat coast on Thursday, the monsoon is expected to enter Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after June 16, as a result of the storm.

The Indian Meteorological Department in Hyderabad on Friday has predicted that the monsoon is likely to enter Telangana and AP after 16 June.

As per the IMD, a heatwave warning has been issued in south coastal Andhra for three days and in Telangana for two days.

Previously, it was forecasted that the monsoon would arrive by June 12, however, it was delayed due to the Cyclone Vayu draining all the moisture, which further resulted in the increase in temperature across Telangana, particularly Hyderabad.

Most of the places across the state witnessed temperatures between 37 to 42 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Thunderstorm accompanied with hail and lightning (30-40 kmph) at isolated places are expected across over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
