Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that the Congress would offer its complete support to the BC Associations's fight for reservations based on census. Demanding that the 34% reservation to the BCs be provided, Uttam said the BCs across Telangana would be at a great loss if the Supreme Court's ruling on 22% reservation to the BCs in Panchayat Raj elections is implemented.
Uttam further said that the Telangana government did not obey the High Court's directions on allotting the reservation based on the 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D' sub-castes in the BCs, confining the reservation to just 22%. He called on the Congress leaders and workers to participate in the protests being carried out by the BC Associations.
