Hyderabad: Stating that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is fearing defeat in the ensuing elections and has been resorting to gimmicks like foundation stone laying, YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said the soaring popularity of leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would throw Chandrababu out of power in the general elections. Taking strong objection to the foul language used by TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy, YSRCP Bapatla Coordinator Nandigam Suresh Babu warned that the MP's tongue would be clipped if he continued making reckless comments on the YSRCP chief.

Addressing the media here on Friday, Srikanth Reddy said Chandrababu's foundation stone laying at Kadapa Steel Plant and his promise to complete the project in two years were mere announcements. "What were the two cabinet ministers doing while they were in the cabinet as part of the NDA coalition? With elections fast approaching, Chandrababu Naidu announced the Kadapa Steel Plant only to create a hype and to get temporary publicity," he said.

The State Reorganisation Bill states that the viability report of the steel plant at Kadapa should be taken up in November 2014, but, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) had rejected the proposal.

"People will not forget the way Chandrababu Naidu forgets his promises and the foundation stones that remain in place with no work in progress. Why did he not explore the possibility of fulfilling the assurances given during the State bifurcation over four year years while he was part of the NDA coalition," he said.
