TDP leader presses for separate Rayalaseema state - Sakshi Post

Stepping up the campaign for creation of separate Rayalaseema state in Andhra Pradesh, TDP leader Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy today held a convention on the demand with leaders and others from the region here today. Maintaining that Rayalaseema has made lot of sacrifices for the sake of a united Andhra Pradesh, he, however, alleged that the region did not get its due. We are not ready for any more sacrifices (for the sake of others).

Instead, we will be ready to make any sacrifices for the cause of protecting Rayalaseema's interests, he said. He said he and other Rayalaseema supporters would soon undertake a 'padayatra' in the region to spread the message. Reddy, a former MLA, has earlier held a fast to highlight the cause of Rayalaseema. He demanded that Andhra Pradesh should either be kept united in the interest of unity of Telugu-speaking people or separate Rayalaseema state be formed to protect its own interests.
