Sujana Chowdary served contempt of court notices

Hyderabad: High Court served legal notices to Union Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Sujana Chowdary  on Friday. The Central Minister has been served these notices for Contempt of Court over payment of Maritius Commercial Bank arrears along with six other members of the Board of Directors.

Hestia, a subsidiary company of Universal Industries Limited, which belongs to Sujana Chowdary had borrowed Rs. 106 Crore as loan from Mauritius Commercial Bank, showing Universal Industries as a surety for the lending.

As the borrower Hestia has not cleared the loan, MCB filed a petition in the court claiming that the outstanding should be paid by selling the properties of Universal Industries, which is under surety.

The High court on Friday served notices of Contempt Court to the Sujana Chowdary as no response to the notices already passed in the past regarding payment of loan.
