Sony Xperia X Price Slashed By Rs14,000 On Flipkart

Down from Rs38,990, the Sony Xperia X price has been reduced by Rs 14,000, to Rs 24,990 on Flipkart. - Sakshi Post

After Sony slashed the price of the Xperia X by Rs 10,000 last year in September, the device has seen another massive price slash. According to the listing on Flipkart, down from Rs 38,990, the Sony Xperia X price has been reduced by Rs 14,000, to Rs 24,990. The price slash is applicable for all color variants.

When launched last year, the Sony Xperia X was unveiled with an exorbitant price tag of Rs 48,990. As compared to that, Amazon India is selling the Xperia X, white variant, at a price of Rs 29,990, and the lime gold version is price at Rs 31,990.

If the price slash has convinced you consider the smartphone, here are the minutes of the device. The Sony Xperia X flaunts a 5-inch 1080p TRILUMINOS Display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It also comes with 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front, the Xperia X is equipped with a 23-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, Predictive hybrid auto-focus, 24mm wide angle lens, and 1080p video recording. Up front is a 13-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, and 1080p video recording.

It also features a 2,620mAh battery that the company claims is good enough to last up to two days, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow.

Although the price cut is a welcome move, it still feels overpriced. You have the likes of Lenovo Z2 Plus with flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC with prices starting at Rs 14,999. For Rs 27,999, you can get the OnePlus 3 which is flagship smartphone, and paying a little more, you can get the OnePlus 3T for Rs 29,999. In the same price range you also have the camera centric Honor 8 with dual rear cameras, priced at Rs 29,999.

In the affordable range, you have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (3GB) variant powered by Snapdragon 650 SoC, the LeEco Le 2 powered by Snapdragon 652 SoC priced at Rs 11,999. There is also Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (4GB) variant priced at Rs 12,999. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC which has proven to offer the right mix of power, performance and efficiency. With such strong competition, the Xperia X even after the price cut remains hard to recommend.
