Madras High Court to hear plea challenging floor test tomorrow

The Madras High Court has agreed to hear tomorrow, a plea challenging the trust vote won by Edappadi K. Palaniswami -led AIADMK government, The Hindu report stated.

Speaker on Saturday declared the AIADMK government had won the Motion of Confidence with 122 votes polled in favour, after DMK members were evicted, and Congress and IUML MLAs walked out. Rebel AIADMK MLAs supporting former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam voted against the motion.

According to the report, the DMK had moved court challenging the trust vote. On Tuesday, it sought permission to move urgent plea assailing the floor test passed in the Assembly on Saturday.

The Madras High Court has agreed to hear the petition on Tuesday.
