Postal Stamp on B Nagi Reddi Released
Chennai: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today released the postal stamp in memory of erstwhile south Indian producer and studio owner B Nagi Reddi at a function here. The postal stamp has been introduced for his contribution to film, publication and healthcare industries.
B Nagi Reddi is the owner of Vijaya Studios which has produced classic films like Maya Bazar, Missamma, Appu Chesi Pappu Kudu, etc. He and his studio was responsible for building the careers of Telugu legendary stars like NT Rama Rao and A Nageswara Rao. His contribution to the film world has been immense and he along with his colleague, writer Chakrapani have been instrumental in developing Vijaya Studios and Vijaya Productions. He has produced films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
B Nagi Reddi was also instrumental in starting the phenomenal children's book called Chandamama. Over the time, Vijaya Studios became Vijaya Hospital and has been serving the needy and helping the poor by providing good medical care.
Vice President mentioned that he was honoured to release the postal stamp of the multi-facted person B Nagi Reddi and congratulated the postal department for the initiative.
