In what is being seen as a reversal for the Telangana advocates, who have been demanding a division of the AP High Court, the high court on Friday said that HC could be divided only after the Andhra Pradesh Government constructs a separate High Court building in the state.

The court also categorically said that the Telangana cannot have its own special court as it does not have the power to do so.

The T advocates have been demanding that AP and Telangana should have separate high courts and have been on an agitational path. However, the HC verdict could set at the rest the controversy over the HC division to rest.
