Shock to TRS: HC cancels parliamentary secretaries - Sakshi Post

In a major setback to the KCR-led TRS government, the High Court on Friday ruled that the posts of parliamentary secretaries created by the Telangana government be cancelled. It said the appointments were not as per law.

The appointment of the parliamentary secretaries was challenged by TDP MLA Revanth Reddy and Congress MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy on the grounds that the posts were beyond the permissible quota of cabinet rank appointment. Responding to the petition, the High Court said the government can take up further appointments only with the permission of the High Court.

With this, six key leaders of the TRS, D Viyan Bhaskar, Jalagam Venkat Rao, Gadari Kishore Kumar, Satish Kumar and Kovala Lakshmi were appointed as parliamentary secretaries and were allocated portfolios as minister of state.
