First Session of Third Telangana Legislative Assembly Begins
Hyderabad: The first session of newly-constituted Telangana assembly will commence today. The inaugural session of the third Telangana Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin at 11 at the Assembly Hall in Public Gardens.
Recently, the Revanth Reddy cabinet had announced its decision to hold the assembly session to facilitate the oath taking of the newly elected MLAs. Following the State Cabinet’s decision, the Governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan summoned the third Telangana Legislative Assembly session.
Earlier, the AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was appointed as the pro-tem Speaker, who won the election from Chandrayangutta in the recent elections. The pro-tem Speaker will chair the Assembly session until the newly elected members are sworn-in and a new Speaker is elected. Meanwhile, BJP MLA from Goshamahal constituency has announced his decision to boycott the assembly session as the MIM leader has been elected to officiate the inaugural day of the session.
