New WhatsApp Feature To Relieve Us From Spam Messages
Popular third party messaging service WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will show “forwarded message”, in order to cut down mass-level spam circulation. After the new feature is rolled out, a forwarded message from another group or from one of the members in the same chat group is sent to a third person, “forwarded message” will be displayed on top of every post that is spammed. This comes as a major relief to WhatsApp users, who often get irritated with these forwarded messages.
Popular memes and “good morning” wishes are flooding the WhatsApp groups these days, leading to increasing irritation among users. At present, WhatsApp does not allow the forwarding of a message more than 25 times.
The new feature has been spotted in WhatsApp Google Play Beta version 2.18.67 as well as in Windows Phone Beta versions. wabetainfo.com, the website that follows WhatsApp Google Play Beta Programme has reportedly spotted the new feature. It is expected that the feature will soon be rolled out on all the platforms, including the iOS devices.
“WhatsApp has modified the behavior of the feature, that will show on the bubble (when the feature will be enabled in future), a forwarded message” string, if the message has been forwarded from another chat (or from the same chat),” read the information on wabetainfo.com .
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has also added the possibility to forward stickers to other chats which will be available in the future.
Although there would be other ways to forward bulk messages, these actions will hinder atleast some of them. Spammers may resort to forward a new message to bypass the new move but this operation is expected certainly slow them down and discourage them.
These two new features are currently in the stage of development and are reportedly expected to be enabled in next WhatsApp updates.
