MP's Husband Alleges Threat to Life from Wife
Chennai: Tirupur AIADMK MP V Sathyabama's husband on Wednesday alleged that his wife seized his property documents and claimed that his life was under threat.
N Vasu, a farmer turned realtor, told reporters in Gobichettipalayam that Sathyabama had taken away all the properties from him and was threatening with retribution for demanding the assets back. Sathyabama, who is in Delhi to attend the ongoing Parliament sessions said the allegations against her were baseless.
Vasu alleged that Sathyabama had parted ways with him three years ago. "There is a conspiracy going on to eliminate me. I have petitioned chief minister J Jayalallithaa also,'' he said. Vasu claimed that he was a loyalist of the AIADMK since 1984 and played an instrumental role in the growth of Sathyabama within the party. "I had borrowed money from various people and spent it for her political growth. But now I don't even have a penny. All my property documents are with her,'' he alleged.
Vasu alleged that all his movements were watched and often curtailed. He claimed that his business activities are also being muzzled and that his family members are being threatened for supporting him. "Only chief minister Jayalalithaa can protect me,'' he said.
Sources in AIADMK said that all was not well between the couple for the past several years and that there was personal as well as property issues involved.
