Mother immolates self and children

Tirupati: Jharina Begum (35), in a fit of rage after a quarrel with husband doused herself and four children with kerosene and set ablaze herself and her kids, police said on Wednesday.

After hearing cries of them, the neighbours rushed to the spot and shifted them to a nearby government hospital where the mother and her two daughters aged 14 and 6 breathed their last.

A 10-year-old son, who had 40 percent burns was battling for life and another son who sustained burns on his hands was recovering, police said.
