Heady Twist In Drugs Case, Film Producer Held
Hyderabad: The major drugs racket that was busted in the city recently is revealing more heady twists with each passing day.
On Thursday, the Prohibition and Excise department arrested two more people including a film producer. The identity of the film producer has not been revealed by the investigators. They recovered 16 LSD packets from the accused. Earlier, the police arrested B Ben and Nikhil Shetty for peddling drugs. Ben runs a hotel management institute as a front to his drugs business. The arrests on Thursday brings the total number of accused in the case to 10.
Investigations by the department also revealed that Goa is the epicenter of the drugs racket. The prime accused in the case Kelvin used to procure drugs from Goa and supply it to the peddlers in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, reports about school and college students being easy targets of the peddlers has left the managements of these institutes on tenterhooks. They are apprehensive that the investigations might reveal their institutes' name. In an attempt to allay their fears, Prohibition and Excise department director Akun Sabharwal said that the names and identities of students and their colleges would not be made public.
