Missing Jail Official Traced to Khammam, Says Bosses Harassed Him

Sub-jail superintendent Srinivasa Rao - Sakshi Post

First it happened in Karnataka. The cops there stood up against politicos and raised the issue of excessive interference in the affairs of the police department. Some even ended their lives raking up a controversy. Now, it seems to have spread to Andhra Pradesh too. The only difference is that the police personnel are not fighting political bosses but police bosses.

After the incident of Kukunurplli SI Ramakrishna Reddy ending his life and blaming it on his boss, now a sub-jail superintendent blamed the higher ups in the prisons department and went underground.

After the incident of Kukunurplli SI Ramakrishna Reddy ending his life and blaming it on his boss, now a sub-jail superintendent blamed the higher ups in the prisons department and went underground. Srinivasa Rao, who worked as sub-jail superintendent at Bhongir in Nalgonda, was recently transferred to Adilabad’s Luxettipet. Deeply upset by this transfer, he left his home on Tuesday and became untraceable.

His family members, who grew anxious at his absence, approached the police. During investigations, the police found a letter written by Srinivasa Rao, wherein he stated that he was going away as he was unable to bear the harassment by the superiors. In the letter, he said even chief minister’s writ does not run in the prisons department.

The police traced Srinivasa Rao to Khammam, where is under treatment in a hostel.
