Khairatabad Ganesha Will Break The ‘Rule’ This Time

Hyderabad: Hyderabadis are used to the humunguous Khairatabad Ganesha’s immersion happining after all other idols are immersed. On many an occasion, the Khairatabad Ganesha was immersed a day or two after the actual immersion.

But, this time, in a first, the Khairatabad Ganesha will be consigned to Hussain Sagar before all other idols. He would head for Hussain Sagar even before the Balapur procession, the main procession, begins. The procession of Khairatabad Ganesha takes several hours to reach Hussain Sagar and needs several hours of efforts to immese.

The procession from Balapur is the main procession as it will be joined by most of the Ganeshas from the Old City and the adjoining areas like Gowliguda, Goshamahal, Begumbazaar, Abids and other areas.

Meanwhile, the police have made elaborate arrangements for the Ganesha immersion. As many as 10 cranes have been set up on the NTR Marg, 24 on Uppter Tankbund Road. As many as 12000 CCTVs have been installed to monitor the procession. As many as 5000 police personnel have been deployed.
