Hyderabad: Police on Wednesday arrested a 46-year-old man, who was caught on CCTV while sexually abusing a four-year-old girl, in Shah Ali Banda.

The accused Mohammad Akram Khan is married with two kids. Khan, a realtor by profession, had allegedly lured a minor girl who stays in the neighborhood with chocolates and was caught sexually assaulting her on CCTV camera. The incident came to light on Wednesday afternoon through a CCTV camera installed in his house by his wife.

After smelling a rat , Khan's wife had installed a CCTV camera in their house when the former was away. She installed the camera in their house with the help of a technician.

Later, the two watched the footage and a shocked wife chose to not report about it. However, the incident came into light when the police in the southern zone as part of community policing, set up CCTV at various places and conducted an an awareness programme for CCTV technicians. During the awareness program, Omar narrated about Akram's incident. Soon, South zone DCP V. Satyanarayana along with Shali banda police force seized the CCTV footage and started investigations.

Though the accused tried to defend himself initially, he was shown the footage after which he had confessed about the crime. In less than 30 minutes, he was arrested and booked under IPC 377, 363, 366 sections and Nirbhaya Act and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
