Hyderabad: Bollywood film Raabta is in trouble ahead of its release on June 9, as the makers of Magadheera moved court seeking injunction alleging copyright infringement. The city civil court issued a notice and the hearing will be on June 1 which would decide whether to permit the film’s release.

Makers claim that Raabta starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kirti Sanon is largely based on the storyline of Telugu cinema, where two lovers reunite in another life after reincarnation. Magadheera starring Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal was released in 2009.

When asked about the plagiarism issue, Raabta writers Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal have called their story entirely different. They even said that even film Mirzya carried the same template where lovers meet across time.

Raabta is directorial debut of Dinesh Vijayan and music is scored by Pritam.
