KK, Vivek,Manda to join TRS on June 2
The Congress appears to be facing a major blow from TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao.
Two Telangana Congress MPs is likely to joining the pink party on June 2. MPs Vivek (Peddapalli) and Manda Jagannatham (Nagar Kurnool) had decided to join the TRS on June 2 at a public meeting at the Nizam College grounds in Hyderabad. However, Rajaiah, MP from Warangal dropped from his earlier decision to resign as he was not seen at the Vivek’s residence.
The Telangana Congress MPs had threatened to quit Congress if the Congress High Command failed to give clarity on the Telangana issue by May 30.
KCR along with his son KTR and senior Congress leader K Keshava Rao rushed to dissident MP Vivek’s residence on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier, Medchal MLA Kitchennagari Lakshma Reddy visited Vivek’s residence and tried to persuade Vivek.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Vivek announced that they would wait till the evening and switch loyalties if the Centre failed to announce its decision in favor of Telangana.
