Home Guards Recruitment Notification Released 

Chittoor: The district SP Rajasekhar Babu on Wednesday released a notification to recruit 160 Home Guards in Chittoor. Candidates can obtain the application from the district police quarters office on a payment of Rs25 through DD from December 1, an official release said.

The last date for submitting completed applications is December 12. Candidates have to submit applications in person.

Eligibility For Home Guard Posts: Unemployed youth belonging to the Chittoor Police District are eligible to apply for the post. For general category, Class 10 pass is the qualification and for other posts Class 7. Physical standards for males are: Height 160cm for males and 150cm for females.

For physical fitness, 100 meters running, long jump and shot-put tests will be conducted. For specific skill-based posts such as cooks, sweepers, drivers, band staff, plumbers, lab technician, mochi, auto mechanic, electrician and data entry operators, tests will be conducted in their respective fields.

Of the total 160, women are allotted 10 general duty home guard posts and 15 data entry operator posts. The home guards are paid a daily wage of Rs400 in Andhra Pradesh while home guards salary is Rs19,884 per month in Telangana.
