Anantapur: YSR Congress Party president, Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday demanded an early completion of Handri-Neeva project which is the lifeline for Rayalaseema region. "I will complete the project in two years after we get into power in 2019 elections," he declared while addressing a mammoth gathering at the Mahadharna organized in Uravakonda in Anantapur district.

Lashing out at the Chandrababu Naidu government, Jagan said the CM is only making false publicity and not doing anything for welfare and development of people in the state. The TDP government could not complete the remaining 10 percent works of distribution system of the Handri-Neeva project in three years but the CM is making all false claims on the development, he said.

The project will provide irrigation to 1,18,000 acre in the region of which 80,000 acres only in Uravakonda constituency besides drinking water for 10 lakh people, Jagan said.

Anantapur YSRCP president Shankar Narayana, Uravakonda MLA, Y. Visweshwara Reddy, ex-MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy, ex-MLC Y. Sivarami Reddy, Kisan Cell president Nagireddy and several other leaders participated in the dharna.
