Biennial MLC Elections In AP, Telangana To Be Held On March 9

Biennal bypolls would be held on March 9 for six Teachers' and Graduates constitutency MLCs, whose elected representatives are retiring on March 29 this year.

The election commission has, in a release on Monday, said that the notification would be issued on February 13. The last date for making nominations is February 20 and the last date for withdrawal is February 23. The polling will be held on March 3 and the counting would be taken up on March 15.

Three graduate constituency MLCs - MVS Sarma from Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Graduates Constituency, Yandapalli Srinivasulu Reddy of Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor Graduates Constituency and Dr M Geyanand from Ananapur-Kadapa-Kurnool Graduates Constituency - and two teachers constituency MLCs - V Balasubramanyam of Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor Teachers Constituency and Bachala Pullaiah of Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool Teachers Constituency from Andhra Pradesh and K Janardhar Reddy of Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Teachers constituency are retiring on March 29.
