Don’t go to Tirupati now!

Don’t go to Tirupati now! - Sakshi Post

This is summer vacation time and like everyone, you would want to go to Tirupati to have Lord’s darshan.

But, our advice is don’t go now. Don’t’ go at least till the RTC strike is over for the private operators are bent on burning a hole in your pocket.

The private bus operators, who are running around 30 services to the holy temple town are charging an exorbitant Rs 2000 per person for a Hyderabad-Tirupati traveler. Over 2000 Hyderabadis visit Tirupati every day during the summer, but with the APSRTC strike showing no signs of let up, the passengers are left with no option but to go in for private buses.

The private bus fare, which used to be around 1000, has been hiked only recently to 1250 after the Telangana government began taxing AP commercial vehicles. With the RTC employees going on strike, the private operators have once again hiked the fares.

So, a family of four has to spend close to 20000 only for commuting. To spend this amount, one has to have deep pockets.

Hence, our advice is to postpone the pilgrimage till the strike is on.
