SIT Formed To Probe Yadadri Rape And Murder Case

Yadadri/ Hyderabad: As the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl in Bommlaramaram in Yadadri district triggered protests in the area, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to expedite the investigation into her death. Doctors confirmed that she had been raped and killed after conducting autopsy.

The Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagavath said that a SIT  was formed under the leadership of DCP Surender Reddy and supported by SHE Team Additional DCP Saleema and IT Cell officials.

He also informed the villagers that if anyone had any information about the murder or any other details, they should notify the police or share it directly to a  WhatsApp number 94906 17111.

The girl's body was found in a 50-feet deep well in Bommalaramaram area in Bhuvanagiri-Yadadri district on Saturday. Her family lodged a missing complaint with the police after she went missing on April 26. The Bommalaramaram police suspect that the minor girl was gang raped and then thrown into the well in the deserted farm area. Protests erupted when the girl's family members and villagers expressed their anger over the negligent manner in the way the case was handled by the police.

The local SI Venkatesh was transferred to the police head quarters for negligence of duty by the Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagavath. He also assured the family that they would try and catch the criminals within 24 hours and upon his assurance the family had cremated the girl.
