MBA Gold Medalist, Now A Burglar
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Central Crime Station police here on Wednesday caught a burglar who had once earned a gold medal in MBA. According to the MBA grad, he took to burglary to lead a lavish lifestyle.
The burglar was identified as M Vamshi Krishna alias Sam Richard alias Lokesh. He hails from Vetapalem village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He is involved in over 23 cases. The police recovered Rs 1.5 lakhs in cash and 800 grams of gold
According to the police, Vamshi completed his MBA in HR in 2004 and was also a gold medalist at the private college he studied in. He was used to a lavish lifestyle and so he resorted to shortcuts to make some easy bucks.
Vamshi targeted locked houses in secluded areas and used hand tools to get himself in. He then would collect as many valuables as he could find and flee the area.
“He used to pledge the stolen property with financial firms like Muthoot Finance, Manappuram, and IIFL and spent the collected money lavishly,” said VC Sajjanar, Police Commissioner, Cyberabad.
Authorities say that Vamshi had been arrested several times in the past decade. A suspect history sheet has been opened at LB Nagar Police Station for surveillance.
“It’s difficult to track him down because most of the times he is on the move and in transit, taking shelter in many cities,” officials said.
