Budgetary allocations to agriculture meagre, says YS Jagan

Hyderabad: YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the AP budget 2016-17 was full of concoctions. He said the allocations to the all-important agriculture were very meagre.

He also said that the allocations to the loan waiver were not enough even to pay one third of the loan interest amount. He said the allocations to the BCs and Kapus are also inadequate, he said. Talking to mediapersons after the presentation of the budget, he said the revised estimates and the budet estimates appear to be similar.

Senior YSRCP leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said the budget 2016-17 is a mere jugglery of numbers. The only positive thing is that the length of the budget speech has increased. He said the figures at many places are contradictory. For instance, the Government says that the agricultural produce has come down. But, at the same time, it says that the rate of growth of agriculture has gone up.
