YSRCP alleges ulterior motive in presenting the budget in English
Hyderabad: The YSRCP MLAs on Thursday alleged that there was considerable number juggling in the annual financial budget, presented by the ruling TDP government and added that through the budget, they had managed to deceive all sections of the society. They pointed out that the budget was not reflective of reality.
The MLAs spoke out from the media point on Thursday after the assembly was adjourned to Monday. They said that it would take around 10,000 crore to complete the irrigation projects in the state and criticized that the allocation made towards this in the budget was very low. They questioned how the projects would be completed with such low allocation.
They contended that no importance was given to the weaker sections and working class, and also that women were marginalized in the budget. Pointed out that not a single rupee was allocated to the women, the MLAs termed the budget to be anti poor.
Why was the budget presented in English?
The MLAs also questioned the motive of presenting the budget in English and suggested that it was perhaps done this way so that most people, who are not well versed in English, would not understand it. Calling it an enticing and deceptive budget, the MLAs expressed deep dissatisfaction about it.
