Beas Tragedy: Students unions protest at VNR College

Activists of various students unions protested at the VNR Vigyan Jyoti Institute of Engineering and Technology in Hyderabad over the Beas tragedy on June 8.

As many as 24 students and a tour operator on a study tour drowned in the river in Himachal Pradesh when the water was released suddenly.

Leaders of the students unions demanded to arrest the management of the college. Police forces in large number were deployed at the college to prevent any untoward incidents.

Parents of the students are angry with the management of the college for not taking adequate precautions before sending them to the tour.

Parents and leaders of students unions blamed the management for not paying the compensation till now.

With this, tense situation was prevailed at the college.
