Andhra Pradesh has earned the dubious distinction of having high number of flesh trade related cases.

While the statistics, released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) pertain to the undivided state, it is likely that both states have high number of prostitution related cases in future too.

The statistics show that united Andhra Pradesh stood  second in terms of number of prostitution cases in the country.  As many as 489 flesh trade-related cases were booked in Andhra Pradesh last year.

While AP accounted for 20% share of total prostitution cases in the country, Tamil Nadu topped the list of states.

The NCRB Report 2013 indicates that there is a steep increase in number of cases booked under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act in Vizag (34) and Vijayawada (50).
