Anticipatory bail for Shankar Rao

The Namapalli court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to former minister and Cantonment MLA P Shankar Rao, in connection with the Green Field land scam.

The residents of the Green Fields Colony in Kanajiguda village had lodged a complaint that Shankar Rao and his brother Dayanand were trying to illegally occupy 875 plots by producing fake documents, showing them to be the owners. Based on a complaint, the Cyberabad police registered a case against him. Cases have been booked against him under section 120B, 420, 367 and 468 of the IPC.
