Interstate Water Disputes: YSRCP Appeals To Centre For A Speedy Resolution

YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy  - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Although YSRCP expressed its support to the Bill pertaining to the interstate water dispute resolution, however, it found fault with clause that prescribes one and half year deadline to resolve the issues. The party wanted the Centre to resolve the longstanding water disputes on a war footing basis within two to three months.

Speaking on the issue in the Lok Sabha, YSCRP MP Mithun Reddy on Wednesday said the whole idea of dispute resolution and harnessing available rain water would be lost if the time taken to resolve the issue was long.

He appealed to the Centre to come up with proper data and research so as to find resolution to long pending within a time frame of six months and requested it to safeguard the interests of states which are in the downstream.
