Study Physics In B.Com, For Real!
B.Com Physics: It was possibly the gaffe of the year 2017 which reminds us of Vijayawada MLA Sk Jaleel Khan, who's infamous claim of studying Physics in B.Com in an interview went viral for the rest of the year and thereafter. With the gaffe going viral like a wildfire in the Telugu States, the Telugu Desam Party MLA shot to high popularity from being a local figure in Vijayawada. Thousands of memes and social media posts followed after the B.Com Physics comment.
Although Physics as a subject was never a part of the Bachelor of Commerce curriculum, it appears Jaleel Khan's words are surprisingly coming into fruition. Yes, around nine Indian Universities, including SRM, Symbiosis and GP Jindal Universities have introduced as part of their liberal studies programs, offering an option to take the Physics and Chemistry subjects for the Commerce students. Likewise, B.Sc students can opt for History and Economics subjects and so can students of Arts.
Putting an end to conventional educational practices and drawing a parallel to international Universities, several domestic institutions are gradually moving towards liberalizing course curricula. On the other side, corporate companies are finding it increasingly interesting the process of recruiting students of liberal studies globally, say Human Resources analysts.
Nevertheless, one should credit Jaleel Khan for his unintentional foresightedness. Watch this space for updates on latest trends in social media.
