CRDA Chairman Promises To Lift Illegal Cases Against Farmers
Mangalagiri: CRDA chairman and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy promised that the YSRCP government would lift all cases slapped against farmers in the capital region in Amaravati during the past TDP government.
Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, he clarified and reiterated that Amaravati would remain as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, dismissing reports that the new YSRCP government could shift the capital to another location.
To buttress his argument, he said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had built his home in Tadepally only because it came under the capital region, and reaffirmed that the capital would remain in Amaravati.
He also promised that he would work towards resolving problems of villages which had parted with their lands for capital construction. He also said the YSRCP government would not spare any official who had behaved rudely with farmers during the tenure of TDP government.
It may be recalled that farmers had gone through a tough time during the TDP government as a number of them were forcibly evicted from lands and their lands were grabbed illegally. Some of them even came out in open to raise a banner of protest.
