Chandrababu May Have To Vacate His Illegal Residence On River Krishna

Hyderabad: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu might have to vacate his house that is constructed along the Krishna river in Undavalli in Guntur district. Mangalgiri legislator Alla Ramakrishna who is likely to take over as the chairman of AP state capital region development authority, kicked off a political storm when he said that Naidu will be evicted from the house as the building is illegal and has been constructed on riverbed.

Recently, Naidu had written to the state government seeking permission to use Praja Vedika for official purposes. The state government is yet to respond to Naidu's request, while Ramakrishna Reddy told media that Naidu will soon be evicted. He said that government will use all due legal process to get him evicted as the building is against environmental norms. The building is owned by an industrialist and the previous TDP government had hired it for Naidu's official visits.

Ramakrishna Reddy had defeated Naidu's son Nara Lokesh in the recent assembly elections from the seat.

Earlier, too, Reddy had moved the High Court over constructions of buildings on river bed of Krishna river in Guntur district. He argued that the constructions were a violation of River Conservation Act.

Naidu has been staying in the riverside bungalow for the past four years after the state administration moved to Vijayawada from Hyderabad.
