AP Bandh: Jana Sena Condemns YSRCP Leaders’ Arrest
Amaravati: Jana Sena party condemned the arrest of YSR Congress Party leaders' arrest. Jana Sena state general secretary Thota Chandrashekar said that the ruling TDP government was trying to foil today's bandh, which was called by YSRCP. Dissent was the right of all political parties in a democratic country, he said. "If AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu decided to observe bandh, it was fine, but the opposition had no right to call for a shutdown," he observed.
The Jana Sena general secretary blamed Chandrababu for the state not being accorded Special Category Status (SCS). If only the AP CM too had joined hands to fight against the Central government, things would have been different. He said there was no use of Special Package to the state, Chandrababu made a u turn for personal gains.
Chandrasekhar said that it was Chandrababu who preferred Special Package over SCS. For establishing his political identity, the TDP chief had called for a no-trust vote motion in the Parliament. He called upon the AP CM to join hands in fight for SCS. Chandrababu had supported the bandh on an earlier occasion only for his personal benefits, he added.
