A minute’s delay cost her an year

An EAMCET candidate was not allowed to take the test because she arrived at the examination centre one minute late.

The teary-eyed girl and her parents pleaded with the authorities, but to no avail.

The girl, who was to take the test at the NMR college in Kukatpalli, was denied entry as she came after the one-minute grace time was over. The authorities, who have allowed a grace time of one minute in view of the two-state APSRTC bus strike, did not allow the girl as the grace time was already over.

As their pleas fell on deaf ears, the girl and her parents sat on a dharna in front of the examination centre for some time before departing utterly crest-fallen.
