1 Killed, 6 Injured After 2 Cars Collide Head-on Near Bhimavaram 

Bhimavaram: One person died and six others seriously injured after a speeding i20 car lost control due to tyre burst and crashed into another vehicle at Pathuru near sugar factory in West Godavari district on Tuesday morning. The car (AP37 CX6633) was proceeding towards Gundugolanu village from Bhimavaram while the Innova vehicle (AP05 BN2222) was on its way to Tadepalligudem from Eluru.

One of the passengers in the i20 died on the spot when it crashed into the Innova and five others in the car sustained serious injuries. One of them has been shifted to Asram hospital in Eluru while the others are undergoing treatment at government hospital.

The impact of the crash was so heavy that the car jumped and hit a police vehicle which was parked off the road. The police vehicle which was about to leave on a pilot duty for the deputy chairman of AP Legislative Council Mr. Subramanyam, was not occupied at the time. The vehicle was badly damaged though.
