Sri Gayathri Student Attempts Suicide After Lecturer Insults Him, Condition Critical

Hyderabad: An intermediate second year student attempted suicide by jumping off the fifth floor of an apartment at Balapur on Monday evening. His condition is stated to be serious and tensions prevailed at the college as the boy's relatives attacked the college on Tuesday.

Sanjay, a resident of Janapriya Apartments at Balapur is pursuing intermediate second year at Sri Gayathri junior college at Champapet. On Monday, a lecturer at the college scolded Sanjay and beat him black and blue for getting less mark in the exams. Feeling depressed, he attempted suicide by jumping off the fifth floor of the apartment building. He called his father and mother to tell them he was committing suicide as he was deeply hurt by the lecturer's behavior at the college.

The family members shifted him to a hospital where the doctors stated his condition was critical. On learning the reason of Sanjay's suicide, his family members lodged a complaint against the college administration.
