TDP Ticket War: Nallamilli’s Supporters Wreak Havoc in Anaparthi Constituency

East Godavari: In a dramatic turn of events, former MLA Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy's supporters burned TDP flags, pamphlets, and a bicycle in protest after the TDP high command decided to allocate the Anaparthi seat to the BJP as part of their alliance.

The supporters expressed their anguish over the seat allocation and raised slogans against Naidu's ‘Kattappa politics’ and burned the TDP materials. Ramakrishna, who was expecting to be fielded from Anaparthi constituency, expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the decision. He alleged a ‘big conspiracy’ to prevent him from getting the ticket.

Addressing his followers on Thursday morning, Ramakrishna said, "I will explain to the people the injustice done to me. From tomorrow, I will go to the people with my family."  He announced his intention to contest the elections based on the decision of the people and stated that he would neither support the TDP nor ask voters to support the BJP candidate.

The former MLA accused TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of cheating him by allocating the Anaparthi seat to the BJP. He said Naidu had assured him the candidature from Anaparthi constituency but later allocated the seat to the BJP ally. The TDP leader claimed the alliance candidate has no strength in the constituency.

Meanwhile, the saffron party has formally declared Shiva Rama Krishnam Raju as its candidate from the assembly constituency. Raju has been serving as party’s convener for the Anaparthy Assembly segment. The open rebellion of former MLA may impact the prospects of alliance candidate in the ensuing elections.
