YSRCP will get 120 seats in AP polls: YSRCP - Sakshi Post

Asserting that the Party has fared very well in the local bodies’ elections, YSRCP has said that it will win 120 assembly and more than 20 MP seats in the general elections.

“Being a new party we have done extremely well in the local bodies and as the general elections will be fought on a different plank and people in favour of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, we will win majority of the assembly and Lok Sabha seats,” party senior leader Dr MV Mysoora Reddy told reporters in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

This apart the changing political equations and polarization of votes between the local bodies and general elections also went in our favour and according our internal survey we will win 110-120   assembly seats and more than 20 Lok Sabha seats, he said.

On the results to local bodies’ elections, he said, we honour the verdict of the people but a close look at the picture and percentages shows that we have done very well. The factors that influence in these elections are mostly local issues and local leadership and since the number of votes for MPTC will be just 2,000 the margin would be wafer thin.

The difference between our Party and TDP in municipal elections was 4 % and it fallen to less than three per cent and local bodies’ election and in general elections we will have an upper hand, he said.

It was a 2.9 % of difference of votes that gave the results and in districts like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam the difference of percentage is much less.  In many places the difference of margin was very less and in some places it was wafer thin even.

When it comes to the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the pattern would be different as they are fought on a different plank and the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been the binding factor as people are in favour of his candidature, he said.

“Moreover, we have given more number of seats to Kapu community and BCs. The BJP-TDP tie-up, which was forged after the local bodies’ elections, will certainly go in our favour and YSRCP is placed in an advantageous position,” he said.

When asked to comment on the survey reports of a former Congress MP, he said: “the very basis of the survey is faulty. Objective data is collected for opinion polls and not for exit polls. The person said that he used objective data for exit polls, which will not reflect the mood of the voter.

Such surveys are useful only for betting and other such commercial activity and has no authenticity,” he said.
