YSRCP to wage a struggle for Polavaram: YS Jagan

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his party would fight for the early completion of the Polavaram irrigation project.

The YSRCP chief on Friday toured in Godavari districts. Speaking on Polavaram project at Bhimavaram, YS Jagan said that late Dr YSR was the only leader who fought for the Polavaram project for well over a decade. He recalled that YSR had allocated Rs 4000 crores for the project soon after coming to power.
YS Jagan further said that he himself had conducted a 100 km-long padayatra for Polavaram project. " We will not forgive anyone who is trying to obstruct Polavaram," he added.
“We cannot allow the State Government to do real estate business in the name of capital formation leaving the hapless farmers high and dry,” he told reporters in Rajahmundry earlier in the day.
When 3,000 acres of government land is available in Mangalagiri area itself, why the State should go after the fertile lands unless it has ulterior motives, he questioned.
