YSRCP slams Chandrababu's power tariff hike

The YSR Congress Party has strongly opposed the AP Government's move to hike the power tariff and the VAT on the petrol and diesel.

In a strongly worded statement, the YSRCP said the power tariff hike was contrary to the Chandrababu Naidu's commitment given to the people at Kakinada on April 2, 2013, that he would never hike the power tariff. "He had even assured to roll back the hike effected by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government in 2013-14," the party reminded.
The party said Chandrababu's coming back to power meant back-breaking power tariff hike and VAT hike. The party said during the five year rule of late YSR, power tariff was never hiked despite the ever growing power utilisation.
The YSRCP also slammed Chandrababu for hiking the Value Added Tax on the petroleum products. "Though the petro-product prices are coming down in the international market and the people in all other states were benefiting from this, the AP government has ensured that the people do not get any relief.
The YSRCP said it would stand by the people and wage a relentless battle against the anti-people's policies of the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP Government.
