MIM ex-MLA Afsar Khan passes away

Hyderabad: Senior MIM leader and three-time MLA from Karwan, Mukhtada Afsar Khan passed away on Friday.

He was 61 and has been undergoing treatment in the Apollo Hospital for the past 15 days due to chest and lung related ailments.
Afsar Khan has been a controversial MIM functionary, who shot into a controversy when he attacked Bangladeshi  Feminist writer Tasleema Nasreen. He had also fire in the air near the GHMC, Abids circle office to protect the interests of a builder close to him.
Known to be close to party chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Afsar Khan was rested in the 2014 assembly elections and a candidate of his choice was given the MIM ticket.
